Making Strides With BMI
October 29, 2018 | by BMI Staff
Last Saturday, the BMI staff, along with several family members and friends, got together to support the fight against cancer. As a group, BMI participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, organized by the American Cancer Society. Collectively donning our pink shirts, together we walked five kilometers alongside fighters and survivors. In preparation for the walk, the BMI Charity Committee and Health & Wellness Committee organized several fund-raising initiatives, including “jean days” and candy sales for employees. In order to participate in a casual dress code on days other than Friday, employees donated $5 to dress down, and the Charity Committee members donated candy for our staff to purchase throughout the day. The walk began at 9:00am Saturday morning at Hammons Field in Springfield, MO, and wove through neighboring streets. Volunteers cheered us on along our path, and local marching bands punctuated mile markers. All in all, our dedicated staff donated a grand total of $1,050 to this cause.
